Since 2009 this important UK program worth £800m has been operating out of the airport.  All of the specialised facilities for its test and evaluation have been designed and delivered by the company’s engineering and project teams.

watchkeeperWest Wales Airport supplies all of the accommodation that makes up the UK MoD’s world-class UAS facility that currently houses the Watchkeepr UAS program. Developed by Thales, the system made its first flight in the UK from the airport in April 2010.

As well as the unique accommodation being supplied for Watchkeeper, all of the other airport services are proving invaluable for the system, as it conducts its test and evaluation program requirements before it goes into service with the British Army.
